Last Writing

“Climate change, mass dislocations, pollution, environmental degradation, political breakdown, and the Covid- 19 pandemics are all cognate effects of the ever increasing acceleration of the last three decades.” words from Amitav Ghosh from the Nutmeg’s Curse. These are not crisis situations happening in the United States of America, but these are the current situations taking place across the world. I am reminded of Plato’s look on state and tyranny. What is the world really becoming? It is obvious that people are moving away from a state of harmony and into a state of tyranny. Trust, loyalty, and honest representation is hard to determine from our world leaders because most of them have personal agendas other than the public affairs. There is too much conversation in politics and not enough work being done to resolve issues that pose a threat to mankind. I am in my 30’s and I got to experience life when it was not so demanding. Those were the days when we had one television in a home and children wanted to play outside. People read the newspapers and they showed concern for worldly events other than entertainment. These days we have more, meaning more devices and access to more information, but yet we seem to be less interested in preserving the beauties of the world.
